Find out how much of your site’s traffic comes from social media, with Google Analytics stats for Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube, LinkedIn, and more, along with how engaged your social media traffic is versus your site average.
About Google Analytics 4 Social Media Report
Every post on your company’s social media accounts doesn’t have to send traffic to your site to be a success. Sometimes, the goal is going viral—and nothing else. But overall, the only way your social media efforts will show a return on investment is if they send people to your website.
Google Analytics 4 tracks combined social media referral data in its default User acquisition report. You can compare how much of your site’s traffic comes from all social networks, versus how much comes in directly or from Google Search and email.
Want to know exactly how many people came to your site from Facebook, and if they are more or less engaged than your average visitor? You can build a report to show that along with stats for any other social network either in Google Analytics’ Explore tab, or with this spreadsheet template.
We’ve pulled together the details on every popular social network into a single report, where you can see your Google Analytics data for Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), YouTube, and even forums including Reddit and Hacker News. Connect it to your Google Analytics account to instantly see how much of your traffic comes from social and a detailed breakdown per network, or customize the report with additional sites and social networks that are important to your audience.
