Last week we did an experiment where we tested a new reduced price for our Subscription.
We were testing the price elasticity of demand, that is, how many more subscriptions we get if we cut price by X.
We tested a price-point for new accounts that is of the price, and got more than 3x accounts to upgrade. So that was worth it.
We don't know where we will go to next pricing-wise. We are evaluating what we do next! As a business, we need to scale revenue fast, but we also want to build something for everyone.
We also discovered that its very hard for startups to iterate pricing. It's a mess of variables, plans, upgrade/downgrade logic, UI, etc. Someone should solve that!
