2023 W14: Rest

Last week many in our team were on vacation, including myself.

It feels great taking some time-off after such an exciting, smart, and unpredictable 13 weeks of spreadsheet sugar.

Because I was off most of the week, I got no major talk points, so I'll make just 2 obvious comments about holidays and rest time.

1) In holiday periods, you will notice less activity on your platforms. Key metrics for last week show an average reduction in activity of 2% to 11%. Some metrics are up, but clearly there were some people away from the computers. Knowing this and learning these curves makes sense - and don't worry, numbers will go up later again.

2) Unless you're in a critical path to launch, everyone should take a few good days off now and then. As a founder or manager you should promote resting when and how your team needs it. Investing in their family time and mental peace of mind makes a lot of sense.
