2024 W4 - 2024 starts for real

Every week I post about one thing that happened at Rows. We're building in public!

2024 got off to a slow start. Well, kind of.

We did have our 4-day hackathon on the 1st week, and we spent the 2nd week readying the results of the hackathon for production. But no big update came out during those 2 weeks, and we’re not used to it. And the business was in sleep mode too, with no movement in review on those 2 weeks.

Things changed last week — Week 3.

In a nutshell:

Upgrades to paid plans restarted!
We shipped our super cool RowsX extension, that loads websites tables into spreadsheets. That was a hackathon project.
Another major launch was of Side-by-side Charts, letting users stack things horizontally: bar charts, pie charts, scatter plots, any chart. That makes dashboarding super cool, and ofc we keep things responsive so that they load great on mobile.
We added a Smart Fill mode. You know how if you have 3 cells with 1, 2, 3, and drag them, excel fill out 4, 5, 6? Well, on top of that, if you *shift+drag* a couple of cells with a sequence in text or numbers in Rows, it'll fill it with AI. (There's a video link at the bottom).
Our team also shipped a new color picker for cells.
And finally we redesigned the Cmd+K quick menu, which now includes full spreadsheet navigation.
